True Story Folks!
Scene: At the ER after a terrible ankle injury when I was 21. Doc: Well, you didn't break it this time! Me: This time? Doc: Yeah, there's a pretty significant fracture but it's old. Me: I've never broken my ankle. Doc: I'll go check again but I'm sure it's an old one. Doc leaves... Mom: I'm the worst mother alive. Me: *This should be good* Why? Mom: I know when you broke your ankle. Me: What?! Mom: It was a long time ago! I didn't know you'd broken it back then! Me: Nothing clued you in? Mom: Well, you walked weird for 6 months but you were a strange kid. I didn't know you were actually hurt! Me: How did it happen? Mom: You were riding a skateboard and got wedged under a car. The whole neighborhood had to lift it off of you. Me: Oh my god mother... Mom: And that's why I never let you get a skateboard.
